I wholeheartedly accept that there are women who'd fit into corporate middle management. Considering the average corporate middle manager, impotent, spineless, and manipulative, most women would fit in rather well. But it's always some heifer who looks like this asking why she'll never get a job as an investment banker - or anything, for that matter ... ... outside the service industry. While I try to keep a straight face when I listen to the propaganda, I just can't miss the irony when some dumpy matron with all the sex appeal of an oompa-loompa attempts to redefine society's perception of femininity. Granted, I'm thankful it keeps loserettes like Jeanine Garofalo out of the better night-clubs - and I really think it's swell that chicks can have their little careers and still get dinner on the table by seven - but do they really expect to have much success selling competence and strength in one booth when they're selling drums and crystals in the next? Get real. All the same, I really think every guy ought to show up for at least one of these demonstrations or conventions. It's truly a surreal experience - like a pep rally on the planet of the apes - but more importantly, it will make you a lot more appreciative of the gals back at the office who, rather than crying through megaphones to be granted respect they don't deserve, quietly earn that which they do. ![]() | |||
